Town Launches Annual Back to School Supply Drive

 

 

Farmingville, NY -  The Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau’s INTERFACE Back to School Supply Drive will begin on Monday, July 29 and run through Wednesday, August 28. Collection centers are located in the lobby of Town Hall at One Independence Hill in Farmingville, the Highway Department Facility located at 1140 Old Town Road in Coram, and the Rose Caracappa Senior Center located at 739 Route 25A in Mount Sinai.

The Youth Bureau is asking for donations of pens, calculators, backpacks, notebooks, lunch boxes, folders, glue, binders and more. The supplies will be distributed to needy families who might otherwise not be able to provide them to their children before school begins. Last year, the Youth Bureau was able to collect enough supplies to help over 2,200 children prepare for school.

10. All For You Hair Salon - 161-1 Long Island Avenue, Holtsville

INTERFACE is a partnership between "good corporate neighbors and the Town of Brookhaven," united in a common effort to provide help to Brookhaven's less fortunate residents. Through volunteerism, INTERFACE provides goods and services to those in need. There are approximately 125 corporations, not-for-profit agencies, community and fraternal organizations that make up INTERFACE. It was the recipient of the President's Private Sector Initiative Award, and it has also been honored by the Eleanor Roosevelt Committee of the Governor's Office of Voluntary Service.
